Inverter generator KSB 30i

Dear Sir or Madam,

On **6 July 2026**, I purchased a **KSB 30i Inverter Generator (230V, maximum output 3.0 kW)** from your company. The delivery by CLS was excellent, and the generator arrived on time and without any damage.

Before using the generator, I carefully read the user manual. During that review, I immediately found several inaccuracies.

### Manual inaccuracies

* The choke illustrations and descriptions do not match the actual operation of the generator. The manual indicates that moving the choke lever to the left switches the choke off and moving it to the right switches it on. In reality, it is exactly the opposite: left is **choke ON** and right is **choke OFF**.

* The fuel valve instructions are also incorrect. According to the manual, the fuel valve should be turned to the left to close it. In reality, the valve must be turned to the right to close it.

### Problems encountered during operation

After putting the generator into service, I experienced the following issues:

* The engine runs very irregularly.
* A large amount of black smoke is emitted from the exhaust.
* The overload indicator remains illuminated even when no electrical equipment is connected.
* I measured a noise level exceeding **96 dB**.
* I could not locate an oil drain plug anywhere on the generator. After reviewing the manual again, I found no reference to an oil drain plug or its location. The only way to drain the engine oil was to tilt the entire generator, which is highly impractical.
* Neither the user manual nor the product specifications provide any official fuel consumption figures. During my use, the generator consumed approximately **8 litres of E5 petrol in about 1 hour and 45 minutes**, which I consider exceptionally high.

The generator has now completely failed and will no longer start. I have changed the engine oil and inspected and cleaned the spark plug, but despite these efforts, the engine still does not start.

In my opinion, the product does not conform to what I could reasonably expect from a new generator. I therefore request that this matter be resolved within a reasonable period by either:

1. Repairing the generator free of charge; or
2. Replacing it with a new generator that is free from defects.

If repair or replacement is not possible, or cannot be carried out within a reasonable time, I request that the purchase agreement be cancelled and that the full purchase price be refunded.

I would appreciate receiving your written response within **14 days** of the date of this letter with your proposed solution.

Bonjour, j'ai bien reçu le groupe électrogène, il fonctionne bien et j'ai pu le tester en production. Le seul problème et que la notice n'est pas en français, j'ai demander pour l'avoir et on m'a répondu que c'était pas possible. Il me semble que si on vend du matériel en france on a obligation de fournir une notice en français. Dommage.

GLS hat den Generator nicht an meine Adresse, sondern direkt an einen Abholshop geloefert, obwohl ich in der angegebenen Zeit zuhause war.

j'ai u des problème démarrage ,je tirait le lanceur 5a6 fois quand il voulais démarrer ,explosion au niveau échappement ,j'ai téléphoné a votre service client il mon dit de renvoyer le produit pour le dépanner ce que j'ai fait .je suis très en colère par rapport au transporteur qui devait reprendre le colis chez moi qu'il na pas fait j'ai du l'apporter moi même au transporteur allez retour 1h30 de route plus bloquer plusieurs jour a l'attendre j'avais téléphoner plusieurs fois au transporteur sans réponse de passage .le produit me plait il peut arriver des défauts sur certains produit je ne vous en veut pas j'attends avec impatience le retour du groupe merci a bientôt

Pas encore utilisé….,solide petit modèle avec une grande puissance comme marque là-dessus et surtout moins encombrant
